About the program:

In life, everyone should have at least one Grand Tour.

Students:

Reon Education designs the Grand Tour as a one-month summer abroad program for the adult students who have never learned Mandarin Chinese. The professionally arranged tour will develop the students step by step in their language skills so that they may experience another life style and appreciate the cultural treasure by direct immersion with the local Chinese cultures.

Quota :

One sumer abroad session of the Grand Tour accepts up to twelve students.  Each day the students will be accompanied by two to three Chinese language teachers proficient in English and other well-trained staff. We arrange for a high professional staff to student ratio to provide for a safe learning experience. We see the students not as a group or a class but as individual people. Therefore, we want each and every one of them to experience and be touched by this Tour.

Accommodation:

Our students will stay in the internationally renowned Grand Hotel in the first half of session in order to acquire the most essential Chinese culture. With the long history, the Grand Hotel is the most famous and cultural one in Asia as well as the exclusive hotel for Taiwan's government to receive the foreign guests, the public is hardly admitted into the hotel on ordinary days. The Grand Hotel is like an ancient Chinese palace, and it stands for the Chinese culture beyond doubt.

And the second half session we will arrange students to stay in Fullon Hotel, which is the best hotel in north Taipei and more convenient for students to go out in their free time. Fullon group holding has 5 hotels in Taiwan with the best quality and luxury, and the one we will stay located in Tamshui, the No.1 tourist spot in Taiwan, is a modern building with complete facilities. Consider the convenience and the comfortable environment for students , we believe this is the best choice.

Idea of curriculum :

Out of the entire summer abroad program, the curriculum is what we have invested most of our resources and efforts and, thus, this is the part that Reon Education is the most proud of.  We minimize the number of hours spent in the classroom, except for time spent on fundamental grammar and pronunciation coursework, in order to optimize the student’s opportunities for true life experiences.  Instead of being filled with extracurricular activities, all the journeys outside the classroom are carefully designed to combine the course with the life and tourism closely.

Journeys are the true courses!

The whole curriculum is designed to provide one with real-life situations. Our teachers and professionals will guide the students to learn what is really applied in real life: the true conversations spoken in everyday life, instead of those limited in textbooks.  The daily agendas are carefully designed to cover specific objectives for our students.  Furthermore, the one-month summer abroad session is organized such that the daily activities all have an educational purpose.

Our Grand Tour curriculum cannot accommodate the large-sized groups. Each  session can accept only a quota of students, accompanied by a large number of our teachers and professionals, so as to accomplish our teaching philosophy and goals.   Our hope is for the students to be able to improve their language proficiency over time such that they are able to more independently learn through their own accord.  With the wonderful memories from this one-month session, the attending students will hopefully get more interested and confident in learning new languages.
